Sport (Coaching)
Specialisation: Martial Arts
The
Diploma Qualification is the highest qualification for the martial arts industry
recognised under the national qualifications framework and has been structured
for the martial arts industry. The course was originally released by Sport and
Recreation Australia (SRTA) under the authority of the (ANTA) Australian
National Training Authority and is now recognised by the Service Industry Skills
Council (SISC).
This Sport Industry
training package qualification holds the relevant units of competence for
martial arts that will now allow participants to attain formal recognition from
the government and the community for their martial arts training and studies at
the highest level. This qualification is the ultimate benchmark and sets the
standard for all martial artists training in the industry in the future. The
Diploma qualification is ideal for industry leaders, organisation leaders, club
owners, operators and is especially important if you are interested in the
pertinent qualifications to match your senior position. Co-ordinate training for
your organisation, senior instructors and students. It is recommended that all
organisation heads set a personal goal to become Diploma qualified. This
qualification also allows instructors to apply for accreditation with relevant
peak bodies. You will become recognised as attaining the highest degree of
qualification, necessary as a martial arts industry leader. Help your senior
instructors, their students and your students attain nationally recognised
instructor status and expand your network. Articulation into further studies
such as university science courses will now be available. This training package
is suitable to all martial arts disciplines.
RPL (Recognition of
Prior Learning)
RPL recognises the
skills you have gained from other courses, life experience, work experience and
training provided at work. The RPL process measures your skills against the
outcomes of a course or module.
RPL includes
course/module exemptions.
RPL does not include
Credit Transfer.
It is important to apply
for RPL if you think you have already got some experience that might be relevant
to your course.
Note:
This course is a combination of competent physical and theoretical martial arts
studies, in combination with the specific units of competence outlined in this
information. The International College of Kenshusei only deliver the specific
units of competence that make up the training package, whilst the martial arts
school is responsible for competent delivery of the specific martial arts
system. Final assessment for this qualification is a collaborative effort
between the martial arts club senior instructor and the International College of
Kenshusei.
Accreditation
Graduates of this
qualification and who also hold a current senior first aid certificate are now
eligible to instruct independently and apply for registration with relevant
martial arts peak bodies.
Summary of Diploma
in Sport Coaching Martial Arts Modules:
Core: Promote
legal responsibilities, manage meetings and staff, people performance,
marketing, determine the needs of client populations, manage culture and
education to expand participation in the martial arts, foster values and ethos
of the phenomenon of play. analyse risk community operations
Coaching Stream:
Implement talent identification programs, establish selection policies for
programs, evaluate , analyse and modify long term training programs for high
performance, plan and prepare the participants to meet the demands of high level
participation. Provide leadership to groups.
Martial Arts
Specialisation:
Teach or develop the high performance skills of martial arts, prepare and
customise planning for the high performance skills of martial arts, design long
term training plan for a high performance martial arts participant.
Elective:
Co-ordinate and implement first aid training for staff and instructors, business
management, develop, establish and evaluate marketing strategies and
opportunities, analyse the psychology of the martial arts industry, teach,
develop and manage the advanced strength and conditioning skills required for
high performance martial artists.
